About this deal

Imaging is about average (again a step better than KS2) with movements easily tracked and fairly well defined in space. Male vocals - overall sounding more forward and intimate with a natural but with slightly nasal characteristics in certain tracks. Highs: High end is crisp and fast paced, but rolled off at the very high end of the frequency range. KBEAR says that they combined a 10mm composite diaphragm dynamic driver and balanced armature driver to create KS2. It is the staging here that I have gripes with where the vocals aren’t really in the “middle” but somewhat pushed back.

It has dual drivers per side, include 1Advanced Balanced armature and 10mm composite diaphragm (PU+biological diaphragm) dynamic drivers. Indeed, the KBEAR KS1 will also make a good alternative to the hypetrain BLON BL-03 and BLON BL-01, especially since there is no need to worry about fixing the fit with aftermarket tips/cables and there is also no need to source for a powerful source (no pun intended), just to get the IEM to sing. I’ll make another quick note; the mid-bass doesn’t really bleed over into the midrange all that much.DapsAs far as my dap situation, I own the iBasso DX240 (flagship level ES9038Pro dac chip) which has a more neutral leaning but completely energetic source tonality.

The bass is not one-noted, it’s even layered a bit, details are able to emerge, and it can take on speedy tracks to an extent. This is a fun sounding, B-Boy style tuning with a penchant for big bass riffs, warm and heavy bass drops and an altogether hip-hop style. Now, this latest entry (KB01) is a slight deviation to a small degree in this area, but it also seems that KBear was looking to create a more mature sound this go ’round. Clearly KBear did not go through the painstaking process of creating an actual Beryllium Driver, but it’s nice to at least see that they chose a nice material which can provide nice auditory capabilities if implemented well. A good DD driver will be able to separate kickdrum and bass guitar well, just like the DD inside KBEar Storm. The timbre and note structure are on the smoother side of the scale, so when you add in a litany of musical instruments and fast tracks you can get some blending of sounds. Not everyone has the same likes and dislikes, audio gear for listening, hearing and not all of us have been down the same audio journey, which makes a huge difference in how we review a product.

Like all ultra-budget sets, KB Ear Storm has rather simple packaging with basic included accessories. The noise cancellation is also incredibly amazing, you get total audio immersion, no disruption whatsoever. It is also noted that it has a modest sparkle but definitely has an inadequate air on them that I feel has a more subdued harmonics. Something I liked about the LARK is that it does have a good mix of soundstage, layering, separation, and detail retrieval which is a pretty good spec sheet to look at, but it does suffer from some quirks in tonality.Secondary harmonics of cymbals and hi-hats have a decent trail-off which proves the Storm does have decent extension past 8k. In my opinion, the back-metal plating design was a fashionable choice and appeals to my inner bias of these designs. Inside, the box, we have the earpieces resting in a black plastic tray with the rest of the kit hiding underneath. I also found if you press and hold it’ll summon the Google assistant lady who tells me I have no plans (obviously ? The tips are simple, but perform exceptionally, at least for me, and that is quite a rare exception.

No issues at all, they fit flush to my ears, I have no sweat build-up ether, I know it’s gross, but some overheat my ears, but not the KS1 earphones.

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. It is bottlenecked at the technicalities aspect, but would otherwise make a fine addition for those who are new to this hobby or those who want a laid back tuning that is different from the usual budget CHIFI fare. I was surprised here as the KS2 was above average in stage and here the KS1 drops back a step and while still good is not quite the equal of its sibling.
