The power cable plugs into a port on the right side of the rear panel, but all other connections are situated on the left side. Hisense says the panel can achieve a peak brightness of 1000 nits, but I’d imagine it’s less than that figure. Light bloom is one of the factors that has kept LED TVs from challenging OLEDs on black levels, though the trade-off for OLEDs is a far dimmer screen.

The panel uniformity was good with a slightly darker centre on a 5% full field slide and lighter edges. Blacks are good but we did find that there was quite a bit of crush introduced when viewing in the dark which was less noticeable or apparent in a well-lit room. Netflix, Prime Video, Rakuten TV, YouTube and Freeview Play have dedicated buttons, so you can hotfoot to the service you fancy. With an HDR signal in the same mode, the TV shows a peak brightness of 842 nits with a full-screen field and 1,982 nits with an 18% field.
