The H57 isn’t as water-resistant as its premium counterpart. The 55 fathoms can handle 1000 feet (300 meters) underwater. The Seiko watch is only resistant to 330 feet (100 meters). Its stainless-steel body helps keep water off. The material is not only waterproof but it doesn’t corrode. You can’t dive with the timepiece. Seiko says that you can only snorkel and swim with it. Unfortunately, it’s not ISO 6425certified.

So much so that it could very well be your daily wearer. We think wearing the Seiko 55 Fathoms is comfortable. Its strap is stainless steel, which doesn’t collect sweat. Its Swiss counterpart has a high-quality leather strap. It screams money, but the material causes you to sweat. Another issue about leather is that many people are allergic to it. As the material in their straps is so different, this is another thing that doesn’t make them look identical. Dial & Case What’s not to like about this watch? The gold accents make the whole piece pop, while still being appropriate for many situations. Those shiny hour markers are balanced by the pilot hands… a combination you really don’t see every day on a dive watch.

You can find the biggest difference between SNZF17 and SNZH55 at the side of the bezel. SNZF17 follows the design of the Rolex Submariner that protects the crown from external damage.Watch gears regularly deal with friction. To prevent them from affecting accuracy, jewels are placed between them. The more jewels present, the lesser the effect of friction will be. 21 is pretty standard. Also, if you look closely, you’d see that sides and the lugs are slightly curved. Even the Hardlex crystal has a hint of bending.

Not only it looks different from the vast majority of watches out there, but it plays with the light superbly. What you might not notice though, are the grooves running under the hour indices. And all of a sudden, this watch goes from almost boring to subtly sparkling. Again, it’s one of those pieces from the Seiko 5 line which could very well be your one and only watch. With 50 m of water resistance, it won’t be able to withstand surface swimming, but it isn’t afraid of rain and hands washing.On the other hand, this bracelet is something I could have really done without. Sure, it was secure and perfectly appropriate for the price, but it just felt so chunky. It doesn’t taper much, is a bit rattly, and honestly just doesn’t elevate the way in anyway. Thankfully, this is a Seiko and the 22mm lug width means you’re going to have plenty of strap options. Personally, I think these look best on a sailcloth strap, which really completes the whole Fifty Fathoms look if that’s what you’re going for. If you look at its bezel, you’ll notice toothed edges. They aren’t that prominent. Its duping has more shark-like teeth. You don’t see this one a lot on YouTube or online either. Yet it has a very interesting color palette and design. But in the real-life scenarios, both of the calibers perform identically with ±10 seconds/day accuracy.
