About this deal

Recently bought a Deta 3 gang smart switch so I can schedule my outdoor lights automatically every day. Unfortunately, there is another light on that switch that can be operated using two other switches in other rooms. The top switch seems to be one of the 3 switches ("2 other switches in other rooms", per your previous post), that are all controlling the same light. Correct?

That would work – good idea. Not perfect for my plan but it's OK and it is still possibly workable. Choosing a type of smart switch often starts with what existing switch (or switches) you want to upgrade. The most basic is a single-pole switch at a single location. To replace 3-way switches that control a set of lights from two locations, you need a smart switch that supports that type of wiring—and some smart switches make it easy to expand to even more switches. Well just bought a single gang Deta Smart switch to try it out and see if it was worth putting 4 gang switch in a bathroom Reno. Ok great thanks again. Just one last question. So more to do with the switch than the wiring, I don't need anything else? Just the switches, get them installed, and then setup via an app. No other hardware (I have a wireless router of course)?Keeping that in mind, we researched the most reliable, cost-effective, and easy-to-install options. I've done this before (not with these Detas). I've run various 8266-based relays with Tasmota, including those Sonoffs. Is this legal? The Sonoffs, etc., were only ever plugged in to the outlet, but these smart switches are hard-wired into the home. Can I just flash whatever firmware I want into the light switch?

When switch 2 turns on "kitchen", enable "kitchen" on switch 1 (and repeated for the "off" action). However, you can choose to use the smart switch mechanism instead, which no longer needs neutral now: My light switches already have neutrals and each downlight has it's own 240v outlet in the roof (perks of apartment living).I've been an early adopter for smart device (IOT) and started to upgrade all my light switches to the Deta grid connect from 2020. Eventually I have now completed my home upgrade to have all my switches to the Deta smart switch however I now have found 1 issue since converting which may be a problem to some or not.

Maybe scratch down a pic of how things work and we may be able to give you some advice (so that your sparky can quote) :) Any hub for GridConnect? Only has Bluetooth bridge but selling as Hub you can use " Zemismart Zigbee Hub" Works With HomeKit I have over 50+ IOT device connected at home from smart switches, power points, sensors etc. The Deta smart switches has been working really good and to be honest there really has not been any issues. I have 2 Asus routers in mesh mode that connects everything together and has proven to be working fine. A growing variety of broader smart home environments, such as Z-Wave wireless or brand-specific smart hubs, opens the options for integrating your switches. If you already use a particular platform or app and are happy and familiar with it, you probably won't appreciate having to use something different just for your smart switches.Has anyone used them and do you think they can be wired using a 2 wire method with no neutral or earth? so just to make sure I understand your current situtation ... are you having 3 switches together (say A, B and C). A controls garden lights. And then B and C controls something else which can also be controlled from switches B2 and C2 in another room. And now you are thinking about just smarting A, by this 3 gang smart switch. Correct? Well I was amazed – what is the difference between one person hearing it and more than others hear it... In my test case it was on an internal hollow wall which seemed to amplify it even more – very easily to hear (by all) as you walk past. The Deta switches don't provide for hardwired 2-way switching. You achieve this via automation. You will need a smart switch at each point.
