The frozen yoghurt bandwagon continues to roll on with the news that yoomoo has become the first brand to fully make the transition from kiosk to supermarket in the UK. I really enjoy variety at breakfast, particularly at weekends. While I’m always looking for everything I cook to be as fuss free as it can, sometimes spending a little more time and effort really makes a difference. We’ve enjoyed breakfast muffins, smoothies, pancakes and waffles in the past, and here’s another string to our breakfast bow: the breakfast sundae! Manufacturers R&R Ice Cream claimed that the new products would “offer a healthier alternative to ice cream”, and are now seeking to exploit the trend in frozen yogurt products. It’s a big move for a company founded just 18 months ago by friends Samantha Pyser and Amanda Gestetner after they discovered ‘fro-yo’ on a trip to LA. Yogurt brand Yoomoo has announced its expansion into the ice lolly market with the launch of three flavours of frozen yogurt lollies. Apr 2013 PAI Partners ("PAI") today announced the acquisition of R&R Ice Cream Plc ("R&R"), a leading European ice cream manufacturer with a strong portfolio of own-label and branded products, from funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. ("Oaktree") and the other shareholders of R&R for an undisclosed sum. The transaction is subject to certain regulatory approvals and financing conditions. R&R's senior management team will continue to lead the business and are investing in the company. R&R is a market-leading company with a strong portfolio of innovative products and excellent potential to expand in the UK and internationally. The food and consumer brands sector is a core area of investment focus and expertise for PAI and we are delighted to be investing in R&R.
