Yes, this is a good thing. Digital is Casio's soul and strong suit, and the brand essentially owns the digital watch space — the brand's recent market research-based push toward more analog watches unfortunately dilutes the brand's character (though the "CasiOak" is admittedly a smash hit). Personally, I like this watch. It looks to be well made, and for myself it's comfortable to wear. If you are looking for a Casio classic style watch I would think this is a good choice. Is it unique?– in the sense that it has its own vibe going on, or has a very distinctive feature or design element. Synthetic resin is the ideal material for wrist straps thanks to its extremely durable and flexible properties. A world time function that allows you to know exactly which time it is in48 cities and 29 time zones. Why 29 you ask? Because it also takes into consideration “half time zones”, that you can find in Teheran, Dehli or Adelaide, to name a few.

Whether in Europe, North America and Japan or in the outer reaches of Canada, Central America and China - once the watch has been set to the local time, it receives the relevant signal and shows the correct time wherever you are. In many countries, it also sets itself automatically to summer and winter time. If solar power was not enough, this watchputs itself in power save mode (sleep mode) and shuts down the screen to save even more power. And even without power save mode or sun, it will still operate for 10 months straight (using it 18 hours a day). So really… don’t fear any power outage here! I have to say I’m firmly in the camp that the 3495 is a huge improvement over the previous modules. I wasn’t even interested in one of the Squares until I discovered Casio had upgraded the module.

Adjustable 1.5 or 3 second afterglow for light (versus 1.5 second non-adjustable afterglow on module 3159) m of water resistance, which is not always the case on all electronic watches (just don’t wear your watch in the shower, better safe than sorry). Meaning you can ash your hand, swim and dive with this one no problem. As like all decent quartz watches it should be very accurate. Since this watch uses radio signal time sync, then as long as it can receive the signal the accuracy should very tight. If the watch is free running without radio signal time sync it should keep better than 10 seconds per month.

o Smallish display - Being older, it's not always easy to read all the text, the time is fine but could be bigger and date is mostly readable, but everything else need 2x mag for me I don't know if this band style is a Japanese-market thing, but I am not a fan of this flat band that doesn't have the "links" where the band attaches to the module. It looks bloated, and shapeless in comparison to the normal band. Elapsed time, split time and final time are measured with 1/100-sec accuracy. The watch can measure times of up to 24 hours. Invisible solar cells in the watch convert light into energy and supply all functions. A rechargeable battery provides the necessary capacity for operation in poor light conditions. As for myself I normally use watches for time and date only. I rarely use the extra features in these watches as like the timers, and the alarms. I use my smart phone for those types of things.o Features - It has a lot of features and with 3 Second light, Timer, Alarm, World Time and water resist that works for me o Cheapish Band - I like the Barton silicone watch bands as the are soft and supple. The Casio band is a bit stiff. It is durable and we'll see how well it holds up.
