About this deal

In a 2001 poll, Heroes and Villains was voted the UK's favourite Christmas show of all time, [1] receiving 35% of the vote in a survey of 1,500 viewers. [2]

They cannot do it without John writing the words of Del and Rodney. And even if someone brought them a script i don’t think they could do it because they have lost so many characters - Mike the barman, Trigger and Uncle Albert. They would have to cast a completely new set for the show and I cannot see that working. It was an extraordinary gift and it was fine line between making something brilliant and nonsense - and those three episodes were genius.” Throughout this Only Fools and Horses moment, one thing is very clear. Trigger is very proud of his broom. But he's not the only one who is impressed by his tools. While talking in a café, Trigger shares with Del Boy and Rodney about his road sweeper broom that he's had for 20 years and how he received a medal for saving the council money. Talking about what it takes to keep a broom pristine, he later mentions that the broom's had 17 new heads and 14 new handles. Cue the looks of despair from the gang, and the inevitable question: "How the hell can it be the same broom then?" Only Fools and Horses fans will remember the first time they saw the well-known duo run onto their screens in fancy dress. In the same episode as the broom antics (we told you there's a lot of funny moments), Rodney and Del Boy dress up as Batman and Robin for a fancy dress party. But nothing is quite as it seems in Only Fools and Horses, and the fancy dress is actually a funeral wake. Yikes!I watched it at home like everyone else. I liked it immensely. But I had no idea it would be that big. However the woes soon turned to smiles when Del discovered the vintage watch which led to them earning a fortune - and then the episode playing out with the two brothers walking into the sunset as millionaires. I have worked with David a few times since the final show, but we never mentioned Only Fools’ great success,” he says. “Actors don’t talk about what you have done and dwell on success. First episode Heroes And Villains featured the one of the most memorable TV scenes of all time with Del and Rodney, dressed as Batman and Robin for a fancy dress party, thwarting muggers. Comedy acting is a lot to do with timing, and David has got very good timing; like all the great ones from Eric Morecambe to Steve Martin .

The Only Fools and Horses musical includes all of the iconic characters, including Del Boy, Rodney, Cassandra, Grandad and Trigger. There's a new story for Only Fools and Horses musical, which sees Del Boy wanting to fall in love, as well as Rodney and Cassandra planning their upcoming nuptials. It's a continuation of the television series, with all the on-screen moments thrown in for good measure. Best bits of Only Fools and Horses on television And Nicholas was as vital in the team. The humour and best lines came from David, but they had to be fed by Nicholas. And in comedy the feed is just as important getting the laugh line.Trigger finally calls him Rodney, but when it's time to nominate a new vice-chairman of the association, Trigger knows when to call him Rodney and not Dave! Only Fools and Horseswas one of the greatest 20th-century sitcoms aired on British screens. The lovable comedy followed the Trotter brothers in London, who'll sell anything in the hopes of becoming rich. First broadcast in 1981, the sitcom ran for seven series over a decade, and was watched by millions nationwide. Now, theatregoers can reunite with Del Boy and Rodney Trotter again in Only Fools and Horses: The Musical, as the garish Reliant Robin is parked in the West End. Two things are true about Olivia Pope: she can handle the biggest of scandals and does so boasting the bougiest of coats. But Pope’s coats were more than a fashion statement, they were like extra characters in Scandal. Her sartorial choice reflected where she was emotionally and we got used to guessing turns the plot would take by her coat selection. Is that a white Max Mara number? Oh, a red leather Derek Lam trench? The show’s fans will tell you there’s no more classic a scene than the heroine pounding the pavements of Washington DC to fix the latest scandal with her belted coat billowing behind her. Pope’s outerwear changes were far too frequent and expensive for me to ever match. But it taught me a simple thing: my outfit can you tell my mood before I open my mouth. So it’s no coincidence that since watching the show my wardrobe has experienced an explosion of yellow. I am, in fact, aggressively happy and you’re going to know about it. Thank you, Olivia Pope, for teaching me your ways. GS Monty Don Veteran British actor Michael Jayston joined the two comedy geniuses for the episode, the final part of writer John Sullivan’s intended farewell trilogy. Michael says David Jason loved playing the role of Del Boy, but never made too much of his stardom.

A family legend has it that, when I was six or seven, I wanted to be a barmaid. Not just any barmaid, but Bet Lynch of the Rovers Return. Nearly three decades later as a fashion journalist, it’s an anecdote I’m proud of. Those spangly tops, power-shoulder skirt suits and leopard-print everything say fierce, fearless and fabulous Come to think of it, it’s very autumn/winter 2018 (note to self: pitch piece on why Coronation Street is a sartorial archive ripe to mine this season). Before seeing Only Fools and Horses on stage, take a trip down memory lane and see all the best bits from the television series. With so many incredible moments to choose from, we may not have selected your favourite. But rest assured, we're certain these clips will make you laugh, put a smile on your face, and have you heading down to the Theatre Royal Haymarket to see Only Fools and Horses in London. Keeping up with the Jonzes: Nicholas Lyndhurst as Rodney Trotter and David Jason as Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter. Photograph: BBC Rodney Trotter – Only Fools and Horses I dream of being a bit more like Villanelle (without the psychopathic tendencies, of course). She takes the same approach to her clothes as she does to everything else in her life: which is to indulge, devour, and exist for the simple end goal of pleasure and play. Her life is hilariously decadent: the fridge full of champagne, a dresser scattered with French perfumes and gold-embossed powder puffs. Before one kill, she fingers the victim’s silk bed throw, asking him where he got it from. She loves luxury, because why shouldn’t she? Who wouldn’t want to lie in silk sheets, walk through the Champs Élysées in Miu Miu, go clubbing in Berlin in a Dries van Noten suit, gatecrash a garden party in Burberry lace? I would, if I could afford it. Jodie Comer as Villanelle. Photograph: Robert Viglasky/Sid Gentle Films/Robert Viglasky Villanelle – Killing Eve

Rodney Trotter Adult Fancy Dress Costume

He kept mixing up which to pour on the dinners. It is confusing if you think about it. The jugs are wrongly named. We did it five and six times and were rolling around laughing.” Heroes and Villains" is the thirteenth Christmas special episode of the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses, first broadcast on 25 December 1996 as the first part of the 1996 Christmas trilogy. It attracted a UK television audience of 21.3million, at the time a record for the show. In the episode, Del and Rodney are invited to a fancy dress party. They arrive dressed as Batman and Robin. David is certainly never rude, but there is so much else to talk about in his career. It is funny because David was not first choice for the BBC to play Del. Jim Broadbent turned it down and then David got it.

Of course, I really wanted to be Angel. Handsome, broody, chest gaping from a satin shirt with one too many buttons open. And the object of adoration for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, despite being undead and occasionally evil. However, being a self conscious teenager baring my chest was out of the question, curly hair is never going to behave in angular spikes like that of David Boreanaz – and where do you even get a satin shirt from? The follow up Modern Man proved to be one of the most moving episodes ever when Rodney and Cassandra lost their baby. At Del's request, he and Rodney go to the party dressed as Batman and Robin respectively, but their Reliant Regal van breaks down halfway there and they have to run the rest of the way. En route they interrupt an attempt to mug Councillor Murray, emerging from the fog dressed as Batman and Robin which scares away the thugs. Del and Rodney arrive at the party, unaware that the publican, Harry Malcolm, had in fact died the day before and the fancy dress has thus been cancelled in favour of a wake (a fact that Boycie, who met them in the doorway, "forgot" to mention), and they burst into the main room humming the Batman theme tune. This scene is an excellent example of advising viewers how not to behave in the kitchen. So much so that Rodney accidentally leaving the kettle on is the least of their worries. Keeping the kettle on the gas, the kitchen fills up with steam and leaving the kitchen with a giant hole in the wall. Condensed walls and alarms going off build up to the big moment when Grandad realises they've killed their pet canary. Arguments fly between the trio in a kitchen that's clearly seen better days. Whatever you could expect to go wrong, multiply the number of mishaps tenfold. On that night, to suggest that Rodney Trotter was anything other than my TV style icon was to deny a clear and obvious truth. Nobody at that party said, “Who are you?” or, “Have you come as yourself?” They all said “Look! It’s Del Boy and Rodney!” While my wife ended up donating her sheepskin coat to charity shortly afterwards – denying me the surreal experience of ever stepping out with a fit David Jason again – I decided to keep hold of the parka. I ended up wearing it most days until it was threadbare. What can I say, it suited me. TJ Olivia Pope – Scandal One of the co-stars from that epic show opened up last year about up about the “magic” of stars David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst. John was a creative genius, and he died far too young. He was the master of turning real life into comedy. He could put ordinary people in extraordinary situations and make it very funny, but real too without being farce. I have the feeling that Nicholas was not really into fame. After shooting he used to wear a floppy cloth cap and nobody used to bother or recognize him. He never really does interviews or looks to be in the limelight.
