Considering buying the Hoover Breeze Evo Pets? Make sure you read our full review before you buy, to find out whether it’s the right choice for your household. The “MAX” line shows you when it’s full, although it’s easy to see this anyway as the canister is made from clear plastic. It’s worth noting that dust and dirt doesn’t always settle to the bottom, so you might not get the full 3 litres of capacity. The Hoover Breeze Evo has a basic design that’ll be familiar to anyone who’s used an upright vacuum before. Floor cleaning is simple enough, but changing accessories can be a fiddly experience that’s more hassle than it should be. The brush roll is higher in the hard floor modes, but if you have it too high, the suction power is noticeably less effective. The height selector is a useful feature, but it takes some experimentation to get right. This setting only affects the height of the brush roll, rather than power or speed, but it still changes the vacuum’s performance. If the brush roll is too high, for example, the cleaning performance suffers. Too low, and it’s hard to push around. The Hoover Breeze Evo TH31 BO02 001 is a bagless vacuum cleaner that measures 310mm in depth, 1090mm in height, and 320mm in width. It weighs 5200g without accessories, has a 7m cord length and a 4.5m hose length. The vacuum cleaner has an annual energy consumption of 22kWh and a noise level of 80dB.As the two Breeze Evo vacuums are almost identical in design, however, we’re not surprised they have similar issues. One of those is the crowded appearance, which is even worse on the Breeze Evo Pets due to the extra tool. While there is onboard storage, it’s often easier to just store the attachment elsewhere. The Hoover Breeze Evo Pets has similar features to the standard Hoover Breeze Evo, but comes with an extra mini motorised turbo brush. This accessory has rotating brushes to agitate fibres, making it useful for cleaning stairs, upholstery, and car interiors. The canister is transparent plastic and there’s a “MAX” line showing when it needs emptying. One button removes the canister from the vacuum and another opens the trap door, so you can hold it in a bin bag to help stop dirt from spilling out. It’s a basic system, as you would expect from a budget vacuum, and it works well on loose dirt and dust. The Hoover Breeze Evo is a low-cost vacuum cleaner that we think is an option to consider if you’re on a tight budget. It’s easy for users of all ages to manoeuvre, and the performance is more than sufficient for the price. The Hoover Breeze Evo Pets has a basic floorhead with a motorised brush bar for deeper cleaning. There aren’t any headlights or advanced features, but it does a decent job on most floor types. The different height settings do come in useful for carpets. Increasing the height reduces the brush bar depth, but also makes the vacuum easier to push around, so it takes some time to find the right setup. When in use, however, the Hoover feels light and easy to move around on different floor types. We also like the cord clip to keep the cable out of the way and prevent you from running over it. When it’s time to use the tools, changing the hoses and tools over is a fiddly job. You need to disconnect and reconnect hoses and attachments each time. This is our main gripe with the cleaning performance of the Breeze Evo, especially as the main floorhead doesn’t manage edges too well, so you’ll need to use tools frequently.But the hose and tool setup is a flawed design that we can’t overlook. While it’s useful to have two different hoses, it’s frustrating to unclip them, swap them over, and then add your tool each time you want to use it. There’s a 2-in-1 dusting brush and furniture nozzle, an extension tube, and Hoover’s long crevice tool. The latter is a welcome addition, as crevice tools are getting shorter on a lot of recent vacuums, which limits where you can use them. Hoover has also included five height settings for the brush roll to suit different floors. On hard floors, for example, you can raise the brush to protect the surface and avoid sending debris scattering across the floor. These settings are adjusted using a simple rotary dial – there are no foot controls like on some pricier vacuums.
The Hoover Breeze Evo Pets is great for cleaning pet hair on the floor, as well as other surfaces. So, despite its limitations in other areas, it could be a good choice for pet owners who need a vacuum on a tight budget.
Where to Find your Model Number
The tool and hose setup also poses problems for everyday use. They’re bulky to store on the vacuum, often fall off, and it’s a fiddly process to change them around when needed. Firstly, the belt on the floorhead is prone to snapping or falling off, so it requires some upkeep. As do the filters, which need regular cleaning to prevent clogs. The rotating brush bar, with its variable height settings, is a good feature that makes this vacuum more versatile. It comes with a few helpful accessories, too.
