About this deal

Having a private car space is very useful and the location although you have to get used to the very narrow roads is fantastic and very close to both the castle and the shops and beautiful walks. For the best views, don your walking shoes and hike along the South West Coast Path to Brownstone Battery and Berry Head National Nature Reserve, or venture to the Dartmoor National Park, which is home to Hingston Hill Stone Circle and the Norsworthy Bridge.

A two minute walk to the estuary with fabulous views and easy access for a morning swim or fishing. Everything was there to make our stay relaxing. Facilities were super. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Appreciated the parking greatly. We would definitely recommend to friends and family. A return trip to Dartmouth in the future will be influenced by the availability of 9 The Pottery! Thank you for extras eg. Milk, bread and drinks, toiletries. Easy parking, access and great location. We could carry SUP boards into creek and lovely walks straight from the door. Would highly recommend and come again. The historical building has a colourful history, having once been a paper mill, a bakery, an outstanding brewery and The Dartmouth Pottery; today, however, it has been sympathetically transformed with incredible attention to detail and has successfully retained many architectural features to provide an exceptional holiday accommodation. From initial research by R. Score. The kitchen is complete with elegant white units that house quality-cooking appliances, allowing you to self-cater for yourself for the duration of your stay, and the central island unit makes a great spot of meal preparation. Lovely location helped by the fact that we have been to Dartmouth many times and know our way around. Double bed very comfortable with high quality mattress. There was only two of us staying but could be problematic, if more, as the main bathroom only had a bath and no proper shower. Found the sofas a bit uncomfortable and not very supportive. Overall a nice stay. since late 70’s) sharing it with now our third generation, we highly recommend The pottery, it was our second stay there over past 3 years on different levels ,there are stairs to think about but you get used to climbing in Devon, we like the idea of not having to drive to town,( it’s a short & scenic walk), or you can use the lovely ferry, up the road near The Castle, if you like photography & walks, this is the place. Both beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped but does have limited workspace for cooking (not a major problem for us but worth noting if you're intending to cook every day)

Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them. Very spacious, stylish and comfortable apartment in an interesting building, quiet location and an easy walk into town or to Dartmouth Castle." Dear Laura, thank you so much for your kind words. We’re delighted to hear that you and your family had a great time in Dartmouth and were happy with the apartment. All the best! Property Owner

Reviews & Ratings

Way too warm) no oven gloves made cooking hazardous & could have done with a clothes airer. Sofa leather looked lovely but uncomfortable The appt write up talked of share court yard outside - in reality this was a car park & if it had have been hot would have been difficult to find any space to sit outside ( good to point out as may out some people off) having said all that we loved it for its location & set up & quality, but the above issues may influence if we returned In the bedroom there was a draught through holes in the very old wall, we plugged these with tissues. The pedal on the kitchen bin was broken.

Kitchen area: With electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and Nespresso coffee machine On further inspection there were a few issues with the level of cleanliness from our previous visit. Not sure if there had been a different team of cleaners but things had been missed. We have discussed all our issues with the letting agents who did assure us those problems would be rectified before our next holiday, we trust that it will be. Escape the excitement of the rest of the group as you unwind with a long soak in the spacious bathtub that rests proudly in the bathroom, or retreat to the peaceful double bedroom with calming blue hues and bright white walls, and discover a handy en-suite shower room. Look forward to exploring your surroundings further as you take a leisurely stroll into the centre of Dartmouth, which is home to a cluster of places to eat and drink, as well as shops and attractions including Dartmouth Museum and the well-kept Royal Avenue Gardens. The amenities of Dartmouth include pubs, restaurants, shops, an Arts Centre, and an extensive selection of activities are just a short walk from your lodgings.

This local landmark building has recently been renovated to the highest standard, and this large spacious apartment has a 5 Star Visit rating. The fantastic secluded location on Warfleet creek is only 10 minutes walk from The Castle and the South West Coast Path, and a pleasant 15 minutes from Dartmouth town, so you can have the best of all worlds. Peter Slaney soon developed the pottery into a tourist attraction for the many visitors to Dartmouth. The top floor of the building renovated to a high standard as a showroom come café and lower down there was a shop with much pottery to buy at special prices. On the ground floor there were glass fronted cabinets with a fine display of pottery made in past years. At that time as well as continuing with many of the existing ranges of pottery there was a new larger gurgle fish jugs hand decorated in colour and also larger cod fish gurgle jugs for the American market. Enter into the apartment and be welcomed in by the open-plan living room, where the exposed beams and original stone wall compliment the contemporary furnishings and mod cons, ensuring a relaxing stay. Absolutely beautiful apartment. Great location with the added bonus of parking! Apartment was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and huge!

The property is also perfectly located for walks to Dartmouth Castle, beautiful coves for swimming and Gallants Bower, ruins of an English civil war, set within the adjacent National Trust woodland. Those travelling with little ones will relish in a day out at Woodlands Family Theme Park or Go Ape Haldon, just a short drive away. Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review - we really appreciate it. Sounds like you loved the location as much as we do! Kindest regards Property Owner Our only observation is the bathrooms are a little tired and must have been designed with smaller people in mind as the sink and toilet heights are quite low even for average height humans. This did not deter from our enjoyment of the property and is only an observation. Dartmouth Pottery continued to successfully produce and sell the Gluggle Jug, creating a long standing association between this South Devon port and the unusual yet charming fish shaped jug. In keeping with its geographical connection, in later years Plymouth Gin commissioned the jugs to be used to advertise their drink.Dear Barbara Thank you so much for your positive comments. It means the world to hear you enjoyed your stay. You’re right about the kitchen rug now been steam cleaned and ready for MasterChef.Kind regards. Really lovely place which was well equipped with everything needed, particularly the kitchen which is very unusual for a holiday let." Set in historic Warfleet and overlooking the Creek is this famous Grade II listed building which has been a paper mill, a bakery, an outstanding brewery and, most recently, the Dartmouth Pottery. Thanks so much for taking the time to post such a wonderful review - we really do appreciate it ! Hopefully you will return to this beautiful spot in Dartmouth again" Property Owner
