About this deal

There are expansive rules for commanding Knight Households and fielding entire armies of Knights, including options to march beneath the resplendent heraldic banners of the Household. Rules are also included to allow players to field a Household drawn from six of the loyal Knight Households of Molech. Keep your eyes on the Warcry section of warhammer-community.com as we’ll be taking a look at some of the rules updates for the new edition soon. The Warband Tome At its core, Heart of Ghur is nearly identical to the preexisting Warcry ruleset. But it does move the game forward in two key areas. In total, the box contains five sprues of terrain, the same amount as Sundered Fate, but one sprue less than the Heart of Ghur core box. Three of the sprues are repeated from the other sets – the two sprues with Gnarloaks, and the sprue with the scatter terrain and rope ladder bridges. From left to right: Gnarloak builds from Heart of Ghur, Sundered Fate, and Bloodhunt From left to right: Gnarloak builds from Heart of Ghur, Sundered Fate, and Bloodhunt An impressive and variable range of models, with all manner of interchangeable heads, weapons, and other pieces of equipment, you’ll be able to get your Wildercorps looking exactly how you want them to. The inclusion of the hounds is nice, too – though I’m not sure about the cropped ears on a couple of the models.

Warcry is also a highly vertical game, in that your troops can climb structures and leap across gaps. This supports the cinematic feel of the fast-paced conflict. It also rewards creative terrain modeling. With such grotesque-looking models, these might even be giving some Flesh Eater Courts a run for their money. Either way, its fun to see the Gorgers get new models after 20 years! Also available are four sets of foul creatures and monstrous fighters to spice up your games. The Chaotic Beasts swarm the battlefield as Thralls armed with razor-sharp claws and fangs, while the Fomoroid Crusher, Mindstealer Sphiranx, and Ogroid Myrmidon are all valuable Chaos Allies with various powerful skills. They also all show up in Battletome: Slaves to Darkness . Both lanyards and desk mats will be available directly from the Games Workshop webstore and certain stores on Saturday the 29th of July.*

Review Summary

A fair few of them, however, are quite fiddly to build. Whilst everything eventually goes together, some of the miniatures – particularly the three in the top left of the photo above – are made up some quite tiny parts. Make sure you take your time dry fitting everything before you start using glue. These impressive and terrifying miniatures are the first new Mawtribes miniatures we’ve seen in, well, forever – though they could easily be mistaken for something from the Flesh-eater Courts range. We’ve got all sorts of wonderful articles for you next week on Warhammer Community. There’s another reveal for Cities of Sigmar and Necromunda, more miniatures for Legions Imperialis, alongside an interview with the Warhammer studio about designing tiny tanks for this new scale of battle, and plenty of excellent articles all about the best hobby in the world. All in all, playing the Rotmire Creed means using your abilities to try to control the battlefield by keeping opponents in place, buffing yourself, and lowering the toughness of even the strongest foes. They look incredible (I love that their armor is mostly made of reeds and bark), and they're fairly easy to pilot. But what of their foes, the Horns of Hashut? Who Are The Horns of Hashut In Warcry Heart Of Ghur And How Do They Play? This is a ton of content, and when they say "everything you need to start playing" they really mean it. With the contents of this box, you have a full regimen of fighters and all the tools necessary to jump into the game immediately. The battle wages against the Horns of Hashut and the Rotmire Creed in Warcry Heart of Ghur

You’ll also be able to read all the lore from the Codex supplement Space Marine: White Scars on the Warhammer Vault with your subscription. Play is similarly dynamic, as each round players roll fistfuls of dice and separate their results into pools of single, double, and triple values. While the participant with the largest amount of singles gains initiative for the round, the doubles and triples are spent for faction-specific abilities. This provides a large degree of asymmetry in addition to the fighter profiles, allowing for unexpected combat boosts or aggressive maneuvers. I greatly prefer the system to Kill Team’s, which require a lot more study. In Warcry you simply have a small chart that’s easy to reference and internalize. Included in the box are the Underworlds warbands Xandire’s Truthseekers, and the Crimson Court. There are two of my favorite warbands… but the choices here are strange. The Crimson Court is a great add – it’s been harder to find around these parts and has some nice proxy models for Soulblight Gravelords heros. Xandire’s Truthseekers have made their way into a few sku’s now – Harrowdeep, the oops-only-warbands Rivals of Harrowdeep, and the Warhammer Quest-lite Lost Relics. It would have been nice to see another rarer warband just for availability, but they are some of the coolest models in the Stormcast line.As the group of goodly knights make their way deep into the forest, they learn that a realmshaper engine from the crashed ship has been damaged in an earthquake, and a feral group of ghouls are descending on the area to engage in a ritualistic bloody hunt. These ghouls are the Beastflayers, who believe themselves to be noble knights on a heroic quest. In reality, their minds are ruined, and they're nothing more than a group of monstrous creatures led by a deranged vampire. Should they stumble upon the realmshaper engine before the Questor Soulsworn, it could spell big trouble for the very stability of the realm. We’re not sure whether this so-called Father of Darkness is an actual god, but we do know he’s very popular with Chaos-corrupted duardin. The warband is ‘lead’ by the Wielder of the Blade, a powerful melee combatant with a three-damage weapon, who can resurrect his own minions after he slays an enemy model – the warband is hyper-focused on decapitation.

Facing off against the Horns of Hashut are the Rotmire Creed, twisted followers of Lord Leech.** These hardy warriors seek to transform the verdant forest into a diseased swampland – a perfect place for their deity to call home. This is very clearly an introductory and learning set. That fact will likely upset some people who are not the target audience of this box. The target audience is more likely to be people new to gaming or skirmish gaming, who need gentle easing into the game. As a product doing that, it’s great. The box has enough to teach the basics, breaks down how to play the games, and given there is a range ruler on the counter sheet and the models are push fit, contains everything you need to play the game. It’s not the full game. It’s not trying to be the full game – but it occupies the same niche as the 40k Intro box.GW revealed a collector’s piece miniature for the 20th anniversary of the release of the final Lord of the Rings film. The ‘Get off the Road!’ diorama shows the iconic scene from The Fellowship of the Ring of the four hobbits hiding under a treeroot from the Ring Wraith. That wraith has a removable base, so you can use him in your games if you want a particularly deluxe mounted wraith to lead yourforcesof darkness. Keep your eyes – all eight of them if you’re so blessed – on Warhammer Community this week for more information about Warcry: Red Harvest, as we jump into the rules with all the force of an enraged Darkaoth Savager.
