These clubs look great. They look like a premium set with a modern design and feel. They are also weighted very well for beginners. Easy-to-hit with great turf interaction and tactile feel, for superior control around the green as well as great escapes from bunkers. A large undercut cavity design keeps the CG low for enhanced stability of off centre strikes as well as producing a high, more forgiving ball flight. The putter MacGregor have included in this set is brilliant. It has a great shape, good alignment aids, and a really nice weight to the head that lets the putter swing nicely. Any golfer would be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the CG3000 clubs, which come at such a low price compared to other starter sets or premium clubs. But these observations were all cursory. The McGregor CG300 set looked good and even felt good in the hands. But would this translate to the course? I did have some trouble hitting it way right, but i put this down to the clubs probably not being designed for a golfer who swings it at 100mph+.
