Beginning in the June 2015 issue of Opera, Go For It, Nakamura! would began serialization as a regular series, celebrated with the main character Nakamura being featured as the cover of the issue. The series also began running at the same time as Syundei's horror manga series Total Eclipse of the Eternal Heart.

To create that level of connection to the characters in such a short space of time is no small feat Being his sister, Nakamura and her have a relatively realistic sibling relationship. Nakamura mostly acts neutral around her, once dismissing her tantrum about the cookie he accidentally ate and not treating her insults as a big deal. Nakamura views Kana as a pain, and it seems like Kana is the sibling that dominates between the two. ZAKKが目玉のコラボカフェが3/16オープン!". Commercial BL Portal Chill Chill (in Japanese). 8 March 2018 . Retrieved 6 October 2019. TL;DR: What with the push among some for BL manga to be “wholesome” and “relatable”, I think it’s hilarious that Ganbare Nakamura-kun is one of the poster children. This manga could be considered insidious—it masquerades as a cute, silly story about a guy who loves his classmate, but if you squint, you can easily reveal the author’s fetishes. If you’re uncomfortable with some of the less savory BL tropes, be wary of the sequel. This is relatively tame; the sequel is worse. I doubt that the events of that story are a misunderstanding or a setup for criticism of that trope because of what I’veMe? Cheating my way out of my Goodreads Reading Goal by reading this short fluffy manga? Haha! I don't know what you're talking about~ Go For It Again, Nakamura! takes place after the conclusion of Go For It, Nakamura! where the two boys, Nakamura and Hirose, became friends. Nakamura continues to seek his goal of becoming closer with Hirose and sees becoming friends with him as a big motivator. Vincent, Brittany (19 October 2018). "Go For It, Nakamura! [Review]". From his classmate's perspective, he is seen as creepy, gloomy, and often plain and forgettable. In Chapter 5, Kawamura's friends compare him to a face drawn on a shimeji mushroom. Finally, some decent shounen ai. A lot of anime and/or manga with gay men in the lead roles just turns into shitty, often rapey fan-service for women. It's not very fun to look at and good writing or entertaining characters are often sacrificed in the name of fan-service. This one is different. Having noticed it, this girl begins to acquire Hirose's napkin that he dropped. With Nakamura lunging on it, she appears startled before wondering why he would step on it. Go For It, Nakamura! was positively received by critics. The series was praised for its 1980s-reminiscent artwork, with Sean Gaffney of Manga Bookshelf favorably comparing it to Ranma ½ and Kimagure Orange Road. [1] Anthony Gramuglia noted in his review of the series for Anime Feminist that Go For It, Nakamura! is "part of a new wave of [boys' love] manga that are more about identity than sex." [2] Reviewing the series for Otaku USA, Brittany Vincent praised the series' romantic comedy elements, calling Go For It, Nakamura! a "special treat for LGBT audiences eager for a sweet, retro-flavored romantic comedy." [3] Characters of the manga were featured in a pop-up cafe in Harajuku, Tokyo ran by Opera from March 16 to April 8, 2018. The cafe featured original merchandise and food inspired by the series.

while not screamingly hilarious, its funny... like genuinely funny. a lot of manga hit and miss with humour, not necessarily because the jokes are bad but because there is certainly limitation to manga as a medium, as there is with any medium, that usually prevent manga from getting more than a

This dedicated side of him is especially seen in his love for Hirose, constantly trying to become friends with him, seeking love advice from an unlikely source to get closer to Hirose, and even mustering up the courage to risk his life to save him from sexual assault. This dedication, however, occasionally reaches a point of obsession when Nakamura would steal a cassette tape to hear Hirose's voice and sniffing what was thought to be Hirose's PE uniform. Even though I just said that this is very light BL and even people who are not into it could like it... I still really wanted the romantic part to happen. But maybe that's just me, lol Each chapter follows this format, where Nakamura attempts to integrate himself into situations that would allow him to interact with Hirose, most ending in comedic failure. New classmates such as Kawamura Hifumi, Oomori, and Tamura Arandou would enter his life as the series goes on, indirectly helping on Nakamura's journey. The title "Go For It, Nakamura!" fits to perfection, 'cause you really do find yourself saying "Go For It!" cheering Nakamura on
