About this deal

A waterproofer is usually only used as a solution for sound external walls that are exposed to enough rainfall that they just become damp. into masonry it can take up to two months for a noticeable “beading effect” to appear when rainfall strikes the wall. This effect should not be confused with the "beading" effect often associated with water repellents.

Once applied, it absorbs into and bonds with walls, making them waterproof without changing their appearance. This still applies for deliveries out of our local area but please note that we use independent carriers so be aware that there may be external factors which we cannot control (e.g Far out postcodes or local traffic situations) Materials delivered direct from the manufacturer. There are a few reasons why your masonry may have faults and each of these causes will have its own solution, which we will discuss here. However, where sprayed, items such as windows and surfaces which are (or will be) varnished or painted, as well as plants, should be covered with Polythene Sheets. Our Glass Protection Film is ideal use on windows. The damp patches can also be ‘cold spots’ on your wall, as damp patches lose heat 3 times faster than the surrounding wall.As opposed to conventional liquid products, Dryseal can be applied in just one working operation to achieve the desired loadings for maximum effectiveness. The masonry will generally be resistant to light rain after 2 – 4 hours. As Stormdry Cream is formulated to penetrate deeply

If you want to be sure that your salts and mould won’t return, you can apply a waterproof render or fit a mesh membrane to your wall before replastering. Stormdry Cream goes on white then dries clear, allowing you to easily see where you’ve already applied for consistent coverage. A one-coat application, Water Repellent / Waterproofing Cream used for the treatment of Penetrating Damp in external masonry surfaces. Stormdry Cream appears white immediately after treatment, making it easy to tell which areas have been treated. After 15 – 20 minutes from application the cream starts to penetrate into the masonry and the whiteness will fade over time. After 24 – 48 hours the wall will have returned to its original appearance, there may be some slight darkening which will fade over time.Alternatively, it can be that some areas of your wall are more exposed or more susceptible to letting water in, despite being sound and this can also cause damp patches or a uniformly damp area to form. With its unique thixotropic consistency and excellent water repellent properties on a range of building materials, Dryseal Masonry Waterproofing Cream stands out.

Before a water repellent impregnation is carried out, crusts of dirt and pollutants as well as efflorescence, algae and moss must be removed by a suitable cleaning procedure. Cleaning opens the pores and capillaries, allowing them to absorb the impregnation agent. to ensure that Stormdry Cream does not splash onto glass, paintwork, patios, plants, etc. Any splashes should be cleaned away with warm soapy water to avoid staining. After application, tools should be cleaned immediately with warm, soapy water. Treat your internal walls with anti-mould cleaner and salt neutraliser before redecorating to prevent the reappearance of salt deposits and mould

The Consequences of External Damp

A second application can be carried out at any time but is usually not necessary. Resistance to rain is normally achieved within one hour of application.
