About this deal
haha I mean I think I have a reasonable handle on what compression is, how it works and what it's for, and the joyo one is definitely in the subtle camp (or at least a lot more subtle than, say, a boss cs3). Well, it certainly has a lot of output, making it a useful clean boost, and the compression doesn't sound bad, if a little bright.
A compressor allows you to play delicately picked passages with masses of effects and you'll hear every note perfectly without any of them dissapearing into the ether or overpowering the others. it does the job very well, I leave it on the whole time, it's tonally transparent and doesn't suck too much unless you really turn up the attack.I do have to make a point of stressing that it is a subtle compression and you can't really get that overly 'squashed' sound, but it cleans up my sound very well and gives me that much sought after 'punch' for funk guitar. The Joyo Dyna Compressor JF-10 is a re-creation of the early classic 80s Boss compressor, with very low noise. The JF-10 Dyna compressor pedal is at the lower end of the scale, but is robustly built and has a picture of a scorpion on the front. It also has a true bypass switch which ensures you don't suffer any tone loss when the pedal is inactive.
Many of your favorite recordings utilize compression to an extent, and maybe you don't even notice it.In terms of construction, the JF-10 has a durable metal casing which can withstand the pressures of gigging.
