I liked Shay Fletcher the best because when Cherry thought he was like a mean oy he actually was not. It's mainly aimed at 8-12 YEAR olds, though don't be ashamed if you find yourself reading it when you're older! The Tanberry family were quite a close bunch, with fourteen year old Honey, Skye and Summer the twelve year old twins and eleven year old Coco. Coco was my favourite character because she is very adventures, loves winning and most of all loves animals. She's the only aspect of the book I really didn't like, but I can see that her emotional journey was an important part of her family's lives. Not having a mother around didn’t help either, particularly when the girls at school realised that she would always make tales up, and lie, because nothing interesting was happening in her life. I know I'm supposed to feel sorry for her because of her current situation but I can't even summon a bit of sympathy to her not only because she's acting like a drama queen but because I think her problem is stupid and if I was one of her sisters I'd probably shake her head just so I could get it to jump-start.I'm also not a big fan of lying, especially if it is relatively harmless, and I feel like there should have been more of a consequence for Cherry at the end. They're definitely the most standout characters of this book and it's honestly what I think I'll be continuing the series for, if not already for the sweets. The story concludes with Shay and Cherry traveling by canoe after Cherry is slapped by Honey and her lies as the canoe breaks down.
