About this deal

now i had said i heard somewhere that this gave 10 things about you vibes and it turns out this came from the publisher themselves! Betting on You follows Bailey who is struggling with her parents divorce when she meets Charlie, a cynic on a plane who she does not like.

He falls first, but can't get past his past relationships always falling apart so he pulls away when she finally reciprocates his feelings. I know I’ve sounded super down on this, but there were times I thought Charlie and Bailey had such cute interactions and were really great for each other. the beginning of the book was kinda slow ☹️ i was originally a teeny, tiny bit bored - i didn't really get into it until their trip to colorado began. There is probably no “right” way to handle this and every situation is different but we are kind of led to believe that Bailey and her mother were super close before Scott and now it feels like Scott is always there. These two just have undeniable chemistry and their conversations kept me so entertained through the entire book. She lives in Nebraska with her husband and pack of wild children, and when she isn’t reading or writing, odds are good she’s guzzling energy drinks and watching rom-coms.

I did really enjoy the progression of Charlie and Bailey’s friendship, and I loved the way they acted around each other. This is for us bookstagram girlies, children of divorce, lovers of When Harry Met Sally, Red Taylor's Version stans. she did fall for c-dog, and also tried to sabotage her mom's relationship with a wonderful guy; but i'm not a child of divorce, so i don't know how hard it could be to adjust to a new "dad". His eyes burned into mine and he said, "When you're in the room, every single cell in my body—every nerve, every muscle, every breath—is lost in you.

it made no sense to me and just really pissed me off… none of charlie’s excuses for why he was so terrible were good ones and it just made him even more of a jerk in my eyes. I yanked down my sleep shirt (even though it went to my knees) and crossed my arms over my braless chest.
