About this deal

Integrated ATR technology adjusts the TM20K's output based on working conditions and the surrounding environment to maintain optimum performance. Mode 2 is the tactical mode which will only provide momentary illumination while the button is being held down, with access to the four brightness levels. The NPP30 pouch perfectly fits the powerbank and any essential cables and the NU06 LE beacon light helps you stay visible in high risk ops! Designed with cutting-edge carbon fiber technology, this energy brick is your ultimate companion for on-the-go charging.

From the powerful TM20K, offering up to 20,000 lumens, to the compact, handheld TM9K TAC, this range provides high performance, high range torches. This flood and throw combo is similar to a few other lights, like the Acebeam X10, Olight Marauder 2 and upcoming lights from Intl-outdoor and Wurkkos. Just kidding, let's drop it in the biggest jar I can find, fill it with water, turn on (which Nitecore advices not to do underwater) and leave it for 2 hours. Reference readings are taken to ensure the filter factor is correct, and a set of measurements were taken. Most of the modes use the spot and flood LEDs, with ultralow and spotlight modes only using the center one and the floodlight mode only using the outer ones. The tactical button always works the same way and isn’t affected by switching between daily and tactical modes – it’s only affected by lockout mode, which stops it working. The ambidextrous lever button will access turbo or strobe, depending on which was last used, when either side of the button is held down. If using a 5 V, 2 A adaptor the charging indicator will flash slowly, and once charging is complete in any charging mode the charging indicator will turn solid blue.

As mentioned before the light will only start with the central LED light in the middle; only for the three subsequent modes the remaining 18 LED lights in the edge of the head will work as well. It also provides excellent heat dissipation, combined with the cooling fins on the head of the light and integrated Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR). Other features make the torch special: The user can switch between floodlight (1800 lumens) and spotlight (1200 lumens). Two 21700 lithium-ion batteries with a total capacity of 9600 mAh are built into the aluminium CNC machined unibody of the TM20K, which provides lightweight as well as excellent heat dissipition. If you try to reactivate it too soon then it will either only last 1 second or won’t go above 3000 lumens.

Then moving outdoors with the same modes (around the 2,000 Lumen level), and then with the same exposure, the Turbo output. I kept going for about an hour of intermittent turbo use about 30 times and the peak output barely dropped, consistently hitting well above 15,000 lm. The Runtime trend of the Medium level (1,900 lumens) is similar to that seen for the high level, but the initial sudden drop occurs 18 minutes after switching on, then maintaining a constant brightness up to over 3h38min before starting to go down and then to switch off shortly after 4 hours of work. Finally, the TM20K comes standard with all of the advanced features you expect on NITECORE flashlights such as IP68 rated waterproof, advanced thermal regulation, mode memory, and lockout mode. Inside we have 6 plastic teeth to hold the cord, giving it very secure grip, it will definitely not loosen over time.

When the light is off, in Daily Mode (Mode 1) / Tactical Mode (Mode 2), short press the Mode button and the power indicator will flash to show the battery voltage (± 0. In the flat bottom of the TM20K we find the power button with a blue LED in the center, remaining charge indicator, the tactical buttons and the USB-C charging port. If you immediately reactivate Turbo, you can do this two further times (three times before a cooling off period) where the thermal protection prevents the TM20K from going above High mode even using the Turbo button. This can be accessed from on/off in mode 1, or from off in mode 2, and to change between strobe and turbo press the mode button while still holding down the lever button. The Nitecore TM20K is an ultra high performance tactical torch boasting an impressive 19 x CREE XP-L2 LED array producing up to 20,000 lumens (burst only) with a beam distance of 290 meters. Here you once again see the effect of the different options the TM20K has to offer: focused in between the trees, or broad light at a short distance and illuminating almost everything at full power.

Among the accessories supplied, the rigid holster with magnetic opening and closure is of excellent quality, perhaps a little bulky but essential to carry the TM20K safely on the belt. Probably lighter than you expect a 20k lumens flashlight to be, but it "gets" heavier the more you hold it. For these types of lights a good 'lock' is key because the light can heat up quickly in only a short amount of time.Something that might be a ‘pro’ for one user can be a ‘con’ for another, so the comments are categorised based on my requirements. Although every effort is made to give as accurate a result as possible, they should be taken as an estimate only. Additionally, the flashlight offers Nitecore's Strobe Ready function for fast access to the strobe mode and a power indicator built in to the power switch. Via a cut-out below the slide you will quickly know which position it is in; also on the opposite side of the mode switch you can find this type of slot that helps you find the button by feel.
