About this deal

These friends at the piano introduce basic rhythms, white key names, and a variety of white and black-key songs that span classical, folk, and blues. The CD for this book offers a unique listening experience with outstanding orchestrations and vocals.

The Fabers' instructional theory "ACE" - Analysis, Creativity, and Expression, guides the pedagogy of My First Piano Adventure. Including an easy-to-use rainbow keyboard and a button that plays 3 tunes, children can easily follow the music inside to play Old MacDonald, Wheels on the Bus and many more beloved songs. It includes favourites like ‘Ring-a-Ring-a-Roses’, ‘Peter Taps with One Hammer’ and ‘The Wheels on the Bus’, as well as playful new pieces, featuring dinosaurs, superheroes, aliens, scooters and more!Music notation is explored through stepwise directional reading, pattern recognition, and changing hand positions, all in the context of engaging songs, games and creative exploration at the piano. With real passion the author describes how piano music can sing, dance or paint a picture as in by Clair de Lune by Debussy.

The first book is about teaching children familiarisation of the keyboard, counting one, two and four beats and difference between treble/bass clef with a series of visual simple pieces. It provides a range of additional pieces, puzzles and activities for students from around the age of five. Part one looks at the range and potential of the piano, as a solo instrument or accompanying other instruments in a duet, trio or with an orchestra. Finger numbers are given for the black keys, but for the white keys, students and teachers are encouraged to develop their own fingering. The orchestrated songs feature children singing the lyrics, which has great appeal to the 5-6 year old beginner. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Classic themes share the stage with contemporary pop and jazz sounds for young ears to absorb and enjoy.

Then, each of the major composers and musical instrument families are introduced and brought to life in a vivid and enchanting way. Maintaining the child-centered philosophy of the series, the friends at the piano from the A Books introduce students to the music of two new composer friends Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. There are plenty of opportunities for improvisation and teacher accompaniments are provided for most of the songs and pieces. My First Piano Book introduces young children to the piano and music-making through fun activities, rhymes, songs and pieces.

Throughout the book, children are referred to the tracks on the CD or online—however they prefer to listen—so that they can hear examples as they read.

This vibrant book, with over sixty pages of amusing illustrations and music on a bonus audio CD and on a special webpage, offers young children a supreme introduction to classical music. There are interesting facts throughout, for example poor Fanny Mendelssohn talented but overlooked unlike her famous brother Felix, and how a cat inspired a piece of music by Confrey.
