About this deal

But I'm more than happy with this one and I won't be getting another to replace it - there is no need.

The yeast is exhausted by the time baking begins and the top of the bread just flattens quite a lot.Unfortunately after half a dozen (perfect) loaves the bread pan started coming loose during kneading. I wasn’t able to get it produce a decent wholemeal loaf however, so look elsewhere if you need more fibre in your bread. The Kenwood BM250 bread maker gives flexibility, you can choose from a 500g, 750g and 1kg sized bread loaf, depending on how hungry you're feeling that is. I have not used it excessively but I am afraid that the clips will go soon which will make it unuseable they are strangely cheaper metal than the rest.

Mine has produced excellent bread, no problems with the pan moving, indeed I have trouble in removing it. Also haven't quite got to grips with the 1 hour fast bake as the books recipe is for a 1kg loaf but the fast bake puts it on 750g so the bread needs 'finishing off' in the oven.Prog times:white 3 hours, wholemeal 3 hours 40 mins based on large sized loaf with medium crust colour. This was a replacement for a previous slightly different Kenwood bread machine, which Lakeland kindly replaced for me when the lid broke. Measuring 31cm x 25cm by 25cm, the BM250 makes loaf shaped bread, as opposed to a tower of bread which you might get with alternative breadmakers. With its healthy blend of grains and fruit muesli bread is one of the most nutritious breads you can eat.

These comments aside, it does make great loaves and in the past year, we must have bought 3~4 ready made loaves at the most. A great recipe to try if you’re new to making bread, this loaf is ideal for sandwiches, or simply enjoy it toasted, with lashings and slathered with of butter. There is a slightly uneven rise on the basic white loaf and the wholemeal loaf is sunken in the centre with a heavy texture. And the crust and base weren’t overdone because the breadmaker’s “keep warm” function worked better than most thanks to the fan in the lid which gently circulates warm air.I’ve had seven years of noisy clanking sounds, mixer paddles getting stuck in the loaf, bread not rising. The one I’ve just bought is a replacement for the same make and model which broke its hub and drive coupling assembly. Easy to use full instructions easy to follow,The only thing about this model is the kneader is just push in tends to come out with bread, later models have a push and twist this is not a big problem as you just pull out of bread when you take it from the pan. My fist loaf was soggy and tasted under baked, so I reserve praise for a later date when I have experimenting a bit.

In common with many other users, we had problems with the pan retention - it jumps out during kneading, resulting in a non-loaf. The company replaced the Breadmaker the next day but the new one had a similar fault, this time the bread pan jammed on the second use. Kamut flour sometimes requires more liquid than wheat flour so adjust the water if necessary, to ensure the dough is not too stiff. Editorial independence means being able to give an unbiased verdict about a product or company, with the avoidance of conflicts of interest. If you can’t eat your way through an entire loaf in one go, slice It once cool and seal it tightly before popping in the freezer.I’ve seen squat bread makers with large footprints, which are easier to put away in a cupboard but take up more room on your kitchen worktop, and tall bread makers with small footprints, but the BM260 is compact in every direction. One problem in using ready bread mixes, They are sold for to make in lbs wheras the machine is in kilos so one has to calculate the weight/water ratio.
