Off the watch you’ve got to deal with Zepp’s companion app, which I would describe as busy, especially now with some of the new software features that have been added to it. The AMOLED display is nearly as large as you get from the 47mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, while the weight is closer to what you'd expect from a 1. Initially, they were built using a spinning rotor to detect changes in orientation, like twisting or rotation. And most importantly, it gets them out doing activities, and the data is good enough for them to generally track their fitness journey. Still incredible value for money and the screen was far better than the Fenix 5+ which was around at the time and you has music and navigation and could pair sensors too, none of which Fitbit were doing.
Amazfit has come a long way from its early days of budget Apple Watch lookalikes and Xiaomi Mi Band clones. Joining the Cheetah Round and Square, the Pro sits at the top of that trio, offering a bigger screen and nicer design materials. Amazfit doesn’t entirely get away without grabbing a feature from a rival with its morning report, a clear rip-off of Garmin’s Morning Report feature. In addition, the watch has a 3GB music storage capacity, allowing you to take your favorite songs with you on every run. Once you try all of the platforms, you see that Garmin – despite quirks – is far more complete than the others.
You can view notifications, though I found notification support a bit spotty in terms of appearing on the watch.
The Cheetah Pro features a responsive button and a convenient crown on its right side, making it easier for the user to control the watch, even during an intense run. I have no idea why this would need to be on the watch face, but then again, we’ve long since passed that point here.
It's protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and has a 1,000 nits peak brightness to ensure the on-screen information is readable under bright sunlight. You can calibrate the altimeter, but it doesn’t appear to properly calibrate itself using GPS (as a baseline). It has passed testing conducted by the National Watch Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, and the report number is XRX-ESH-P20062174. The Amazfit Cheetah Pro features a sleek and durable design, with a titanium alloy body that gives it a premium look.
The Cheetah Pro uses a sweat-wicking nylon strap that's 22mm wide and has an adjustable length of 150-220mm.When you are conducting outdoor activities, if the GPS signal is poor or the AGPS data information has not been synchronized with the mobile phone for an extended period, these outdoor activities may be assessed as indoor activities. We use industry standard testing to compare features properly and we use the watch as our main device over the review period. And since the Cheetah Pro is aimed at runners, it comes with an AI-powered Zepp Coach to provide personalized running plans tailored to the user's goals, which will adjust week-to-week based on the user's performance and condition. I had a chance to test both the Cheetah Pro and the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra, and immediately preferred the Cheetah Pro for its comfortably light design and focus on affordable GPS accuracy.
