Plenty of bad reviews for the vinyl edition, and out the packet the discs were both very dirty (photos attached before/after). While the group's dazzling animated videos would certainly stop any television viewer in their tracks, the music on Gorillaz is equally arresting. After cleaning and preparing both LPs I ripped them to digital using my more than adequate equipment turntable, ADC, and reciever.
The album's success earned the group an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the 'Most Successful Virtual Band', and spawned the singles 'Clint Eastwood', '19-2000', 'Rock the House', and 'Tomorrow Comes Today'. Didn’t realise how sought after the original pressing was, assumed it sold thousands and thousands of copies as I remember it being a big release.
