While it touts itself as a social product, I prefer to think of it as a way to keep people out of your stash: imagine never having to keep your beer in the fridge where your roommates can easily prey upon it. Coppers that come into contact with water, such as copper teapots, mugs, and pitchers, do not require tin. These units are only good for maintaining an already chilled bottled, not good for rapid chilling like our Cooper Cooler™.

The inventors are Greg Loibl, and his co-advisors, Irv Brazinsky and George Sidebotham, both tenured Cooper Union faculty members.It takes approximately three minutes to chill a beverage in a 12 ounce bottle with Loibl’s prototype.

To fulfill his chemical engineering masters thesis, Greg Loibl designed, built and tested a prototype device that proved a beverage in a standard 12 ounce aluminum can could be chilled from room temperature (25°C/77°F) to drinking temperature (5°C/40°F) in under 45 seconds. No need for ice cubes, simply place your chilled bottle in this classic vintage copper finish bottle cooler.

Suitable for one standard bottle of wine or champagne, this cooler is an attractive table centre piece or addition to a tasting event. It is important that the ice water level remains between these two lines for proper operation of the Cooper Cooler™.

The Company’s first product utilizing The Cooper Cooling Process™ is the Cooper Cooler™, a household electric appliance. In these products, the wine bottle is placed in an upright or vertical orientation and the user places ice and water that surrounds the bottle. These chilling packets still need to be frozen ahead of time in the freezer just like regular ice cubes and are actually less efficient than ice cubes for chilling.
