Created in Cheshire in Jill and Valerie – the copper pot stills, the process of making Apple Crumble gin begins through toasting oats, which are then macerated in the spirit before being vapour infused with the baked apples, cinnamon, nutmeg and orange peel. Unlike many ‘flavoured’ gins, this singular spirit doesn’t take its flavour from artificial ingredients added after distillation.

The spirit is then distilled with sweet orange peel, apples, toasted oats, Juniper, Angelica, Coriander, Cinnamon and nutmeg. Chase Distillery is the first distillery in the UK dedicated to the field to bottle cause where all of their spirits are grown, distilled and bottled on their rural Herefordshire farm. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. First of all the smell hits you, sweet apple and freshly baked crumble, then the taste is just wow, subtle yet easily distinguishable as a desert favourite. But achieving such a spirit was easier said than done; in all, it took Nick six months and more than 100 trial runs to create his incredible Apple Crumble Edition Gin.

For Three Wrens founder and distiller Nick Wadeson, this gin is a labour of love – and the realisation of a life-long dream! After watching Alan Titchmarsh on TV reviewing drinks with apples in and making the Three Wrens Apple Crumble Gin sound amazing, I just had to try it for myself and to my surprise, not being a Gin drinker, loved it! After an intensive period of study, distillers courses, trial distillations and exams, Nick made the first batch of Three Wrens in June 2019, and knew he had made something truly special. The Cheshire-based brand is known for its playful sweet and dessert-inspired flavours, and now it has let us in on an exclusive: apple crumble gin liqueur. Our distillery is based in the adjacent village of Cholmondeley, opposite a stunning castle, famous for its amazing gardens.
