About this deal

As used by Team Races to Places in the Africa ECO Race and by Lyndon on the Dakar Rally and Races to Places. Visibility is better than I expected, mirror itself is well made down side is that it's held on with a ziptie.

It’s sleek and out of the way and in my opinion the compactness and field of view it gives you is excellent. This entry was posted in Adventure Motorcycling Gear Reviews, AMH News, Gear and tagged Tested: Double Take mirrors on September 27, 2016 by Chris S.The new 'Adventure' design uses a wider mirror for better rearward vision, and features a shorter ball connection and corresponding longer RAM arm for better stability at speed and on continuous rough terrain.

First, because there are two ball joints, you have the ability to position it exactly where you want it, both when extended for viewing, and also when folded away.

First, because there are two ball joints, you have the ability to position it exactly where you want it, both when extended for viewing, and also when folded away. If you're really unlucky you're also going to notice that the master cylinder that the mirror is screwed into is also smashed.

I suppose any regular bike mirror is nickable without tools, but it’s the RAM bits that people will want, not a poxy Yamaha mirror. I normally use larger Double-Take mirrors on my dirt bike but am doing a long-distance event where I didn’t want big mirrors getting in the way. We are not an independent financial advisor; we will provide details of products available from lenders that we work with, but no advice or recommendation will be made. Third, the joints are stiff enough to hold the mirror at triple digit speeds, but will move if they are struck, which protects you from injury and your bike from damage. After putting a set of Doubletake Mirrors through a rigorous test, I’m now a believer: they are the only mirrors I’ll ever need.

I found the original round mirror (2013 review) did what it was supposed to except blur at speed on at least four different bikes.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. At LPR we use them for trail riding and racing as it removes the need for a larger mirror and is much safer in the event of a crash. These are the guys I bought them from, but I don't see the exact model I bought back then , but I got five adaptors and I could read the CCC/E9 on the back. I’ve only used it a short while, but the rigid alloy RAM arm does greatly reduce the blurring of the round mirror, and the mirror’s greater width is an improvement too. If a mirror gets knocked askew, I find that either the thread holding the mirror to the stalk or the stalk to the mount has loosened in the process.

There's a point where you just want a nice set of mirrors that can be moved when you need to, that you can actually see out of when you are riding. Includes one Trail Mirror, heavy-duty Panduit Cable Tie, and rubber shrink wrap to help keep the mirror in position. This mirror is the product of much frustration- I spent years breaking other designs and wondering what was going on behind me on the road.
