In terms of comfort, Vibes feel as soft and pure as they look. What I have been noticing over the course of these tests is that pretty much any reusable earplug these days are going to be up to a certain standard in terms of construction and comfort, so it’s hard to keep going on about how all of them feel ‘oh so lovely in the ears’. Simply twist a couple of these memory foam cones to make them tight and then insert the resulting tube into your ear, holding it in place until you can feel it seal with your inner ear. You get your nap, and your neighboring laborers (say that 5 times fast) can peaceably go about their work. Assuming that projection is accurate, roughly 1 in 5 UK residents will experience ear damage from loud noise. Vibes is not recommend for use while shooting guns or operating heavy machinery. Unfortunately, that turned out to be too shallow: I got no proper seal whatsoever (even with the largest ear tips) and very little noise reduction, certainly nothing close to 15 or 20 decibels. Loop Experience earplugs reduce more sound than the Flare earplugs. They provide a low level of noise reduction, which means you can hear loud sounds, but sound is generally quietened enough for you to focus and reduce stress or overwhelm. The plugs themselves are made of medical-grade silicone and are based on one of the most widely used hearing aid tips in the market. They also feature an open canal shape which allows sound waves further into your ear before they hit the filter and are attenuated. If your problem is general noise, try an option like the Flare Calmer or Loop Experience. If your sensitivity stops you from enjoying concerts or live events, try the Vibes earplugs. Just buying a pair of reusable earplugs is greener than using disposable foam ones, but Happy Ears has taken things a step further.
