The VLII Series all use the ever-popular Bowens S-Type accessory mount, which makes it compatible with a wide range of modifiers such as Softboxes, Fresnel Lenses, spotlight attachments, snoots diffuser-balls plus much more. After the above analysis, it is safe to say that the performances of both Aputure LS C120D II and Godox VL150 are on par with each other. The build quality of the Godox model is also good as the Aputure LS C120D II. The most common options are the VL Series, SL Series and UL Series of LED Lighting. Here is a breakdown comparing each light currently available in each series. Both Godox VL150 and SL150W II supports a yoke with a handle that allows full 360-degree rotation of the light. In addition, both models offer an option to turn off the fan if you need total silence while shooting, but with reduced brightness. Note that the fan noise is already minimal in both models. In comparison to VL150, the 180W Aputure LS C120D II offers a brighter output of 7000 lux at one meter with a bare bulb. When coupled with a 2X Fresnel the lux value increase to an incredible 67000 at 1m. Note that Aputure LS C120D II can only produce only 24000 lux compared to the 61000 lux at 1m with the in-box reflector. This difference in light output is obvious here due to the wattage difference. Aputure LS C120D II no doubt is capable of offering a brighter output than VL150, it loses against the Godox model when it comes to light output per watt.

Both Godox VL150 and SL150W II are daylight corrected to 5600K(± 200K). In terms of color accuracy, both of them carry a high CRI rating of 95. However, a slight difference arises when it comes to TLCI measurement. Godox SL150W II boasts a slightly higher TLCI value of 97 vs 95 that VL150 supports. Godox VL150 will suit you best if you are looking to shoot outdoor and carry around equipment frequently and it is much lighter than SL150W II. The later one is specifically for studios and does not come with support for an external battery, that’s the reason it’s priced lower than SL150W II. I would also like to make some interviews, documentaries- etc. I saw a comparison and Godox VL150 sounds almost the same as SL150W II (correct me if I'm wrong). Godox VL150 is lighter than the Aputure LS C120D II. VL150 weighs 1.79kg (3.95 lb) whereas Aputure LS C120D II weighs 2.2kg (4.85 lb). Both models also feature a cooling fan with very less or no noise. This is very helpful while recording videos as a silent fan will not deteriorate the audio quality. The Godox VL150 LED Video Light is a lightweight and compact LED light suitable for portraits, product, location and video-based applications such as interviews, cinematography. The daylight balanced LED features a CRI rating of 96 and TLCI rating of 95, producing highly accurate colour renditions and rendering realistic colour tones. The VL150 light is operated by an external controller, keeping it both compact and lightweight perfect for travelling to locations. The FV150 also features a Bowens type S-fit fitting allowing you to attach a large range of accessories and modifiers.
The VL150II can output a lot of power, whilst maintaining a lightweight and compact body. They feature a separate control panel, which not only makes the light itself smaller and lighter. It also enables you to easily control the light without a remote, even when the light is mounted high up.
