About this deal

Like many children who grew up in the '90s, "Batman: The Animated Series" was formative when it came to shaping my Batman sensibilities. It helped me realize that the character of Batman, and his world, are better suited for longform storytelling, and - because of that - it is still the definitive take on The Dark Knight and his Rogues to date. From that thought arose the idea of designing figures based on some of DC’s most beloved characters that had never appeared on the animated series or utilizing popular characters that had been created after the show had aired. Court Fight" (Issues 1-2): Batman and Deadman investigate why the Court of Owls assassinated Mayor Hill of Gotham City. Zatanna gives Batman an amulet that allows him to interact with Deadman. Batman and Deadman discover that Mayor Hill faked his own death as part of a conspiracy so that the Court of Owls can control Gotham City again. Batman: The Adventures Continue (2020-) #8". I don't think it necessarily undoes any of what came before (or what will come), but it lessens the impact for me. Mentors" (Digital Issues 3–6, Print Issues 2-3): Mercenary Slade Wilson, known to Interpol as "Deathstroke", arrives in Gotham and seems to be making a good impression on the Bat-Family. However, he has ulterior motives for being in Gotham. Batman investigates a mysterious stalker who has been observing the Dark Knight for some time. What happened after the show ended…?” wonders Fletcher. “All of these characters had been created, like Deathstroke, Red Hood and, most recently, the Batman Who Laughs. So we said, ‘This could be a cool way to continue the line and really create something fans would want to own.’” Batman: The Adventures Continue (2020-) #3: Season Two". comiXology. The first collection of Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman’s all-new tales set in the world of his beloved animated show is finally here! Collecting issues #1-6 of the acclaimed series written by Weisman and illustrated by George Kambadias, Gargoyles: Here in Manhattan reintroduces the Manhattan Clan, a Gargoyles family newly dedicated to their mission of defending humanity in modern-day New York. But even though their commitment is strong, their bonds are about to be tested to the limit when nefarious factions from all across the world attempt to steal that rarest, most precious of possessions… an unhatched Gargoyle egg! Batman: The Adventures Continue (2020-) #4: Season Two". comiXology. Archived from the original on September 3, 2021 . Retrieved September 27, 2021. Is this just a nostalgia grab aimed at almost-middle-aged dudes who grew up watching the series? Eh, probably. Does it feel good to jump down that rabbit hole remembering what it was like watching these adventures after school? Sure does. This really does feel like a continuation of Batman: The Animated Series thanks in no small part to Paul Dini and Alan Burnett, who were both integral to the show. There are a few ongoing story-lines as well as a couple of stand-alones, so it works nicely. Jason Todd is revealed to have been the second Robin all along and meets a similar fate to his original counterpart in being beaten half to death and then blown up by the Joker, believed to be dead, only to show up later as the Red Hood.

Mentors" is a two-issue (four digital issues) storyline that introduces mercenary Slade Wilson, known to Interpol as "Deathstroke" who has come to Gotham and seems to be making a good impression on the Bat-Family. However, being a contractor, he may have ulterior motives for being in town. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne as Batman is investigating a mysterious stalker who has been observing the Dark Knight for some time. Templeton was just as excited to be working on the comics as he was to be working on the action figures.Batman: The Adventures Continue (2020-) #11". ComiXology.
