About this deal

He just got some 5/8 inch doweling, cut into 4 inch pieces and drilled down into the end with drill bits that match whatever size hook I am using. I, like you, choose several different makes of hook I like Amour and Knitpro but my favourite to use is the soft touch but the colours offends me, such a dreary boring shade so once again the question is comfort or beauty I seem to have lived with this choice in many things through my life especially shoes.

It is said, (though I’m not entirely convinced), that this consistency in size helps crocheters maintain a consistent stitch size.If you struggle to keep the yarn on your hook when pulling it through then an inline hook would help with this. As its name suggests, a pencil grip simply means holding your crochet hook as you would a pen or pencil. Also, think about your posture and check you are sitting comfortably so that you can crochet as consistently as possible. Since that time I believe the company has changed hands, and it’s entirely likely that the contents of the set has also changed. very painful, it took almost eight weeks of NO crocheting to finally be able to pick up my hooks again, and I still have some pain, so I really have to baby this area!

My main gripe is that every so often companies will come out with bigger grip handles for hooks (for instance, the new Susan Bates bamboo-handled aluminum hooks) but they never extend them to the smallest sizes! They are really comfortable since they have an ergonomic handle, similar to the ergonomic handle they sometimes use nowadays in ergonomic pens. However, I can’t find what I did with it and have done a couple of projects without it, including longer stretches of crochet than I have done in a while (Christmas is coming, ya know? No, left-handed crocheters can use exactly the same crochet hook grips as right-handed crocheters, including both the knife grip and pencil grip. All hooks have the same basic anatomy, but there are two main categories within most common hook designs: tapered and inline.

Though this might not make a huge difference (again, this is my experience and intuition speaking rather than science), I think the different materials will impact your tension. I’m part of their referral program so if you want 20% off your first Happy Hook you can use this link here. I did actually cut down a grey Susan Bates aluminium hook (with the assistance of my husband) and it really didn’t work well for me. Below, I will explain the main features which vary between crochet hooks and how these may impact your preferences, your crochet rhythm and tension. I was scrolling through TikTok one evening (a bad habit I’ve recently developed) and I came across a creator showing off her hook handles. In that case, you might just need to practise a little more with that hold until your stitches become more consistent.
