As mentioned above, the 1-cup moka pot makes approximately 60 ml of coffee. It takes up the least space of all the moka pot sizes, at 13 cm or 5 inches tall. To brew some delicious coffee, fill the bottom chamber with water all the way up to the safety valve, insert the metal filter and pour some ground coffee into the basket (without pressing), then put the upper chamber on top and place the pot on the hob. Wait for the coffee to start gurgling as it rises and reaches the collecting chamber: once that’s done, take the pot off the heat and enjoy! Valentina also tells me that she adjusts her recipe slightly depending on the coffee’s origin. While Nadia recommends against using cold water in a moka pot, Valentina says she uses it when brewing a coffee from Brazil, for instance, to bring out some of the more chocolatey flavours. Moka pots are fairly routine to clean. At the worst, you'll have to scrub fine coffee grounds out of some nooks and crannies. Otherwise, a standard combo of water and dish soap will do. If you particularly dislike the cleaning process, however, you might want to consider a dishwasher-safe moka pot.

You can also pour hot water into a single serving of brewed Moka coffee to make an Americano. If you want your Americano to be bigger than 12 ounces, you will probably want a larger Moka Pot to prevent the coffee from tasting too watery. The size of Bialetti moka pots is measured in cups: the capacity of this one is 3 cups, which corresponds to 130 ml of coffee. But beyond that, it gets a bit more complex. Choosing the correct size of moka pot can help save you trouble and precious storage space in your kitchen.The amount of coffee you need depends on the size of your moka pot. They work best when you fill the middle basket to the brim. The 3-cup size is another strong contender for “best size moka pot for one person.” It makes about 200 ml or 6½ fl oz of coffee, and at 16 cm or 6 inches tall, it doesn’t take up that much more space than the 1-cup.
Finally, we have the big boy in the moka pot world: the 12-cup moka pot, which makes about 775 ml or 25 fl oz of coffee, and sits at about 29 cm or 11½ inches tall. Because of its size, it takes a much longer time to brew all of the coffee, and it takes up a lot of space. And I know I’m not the only one. For a coffee lover that drinks a full mug of coffee at a time, a 1-cup Moka pot simply won’t do the work. The right ratio of coffee grounds to water for a moka pot is 1:7 to 1:8. This produces a strong, dark cup of coffee that’s close to espresso provided the grind size is correct (medium-fine).
For espresso coffee, a single cup is 2 ounces. And in case you don’t know, a Moka pot is otherwise known as the “stovetop espresso maker.” Naturally, it comes as no surprise that the same measurement is used for this brewing method as well. It’s pretty easy to clean a Moka Pot. After using it, all you need to do is rinse it under running water, regardless of the size of your Moka Pot. However, be aware that most Moka Pot models are not dishwasher safe and can get damaged beyond repair if you accidentally forget about it. Using the Moka Pot coffee as a base, you can make cappuccinos, lattes, or flat whites at home. Use a battery-operated handheld or electric milk frother to achieve the airy texture of the milk before adding it to your cup with brewed coffee. Of course, there’s also the fact that a larger Moka pot takes longer to heat up. Especially when half of it is only filled with air.
