About this deal

I knew nothing of the author before reading this book, but I am happy that he has become successful with his products. I say “tried and true rewritten” not to disparage, but to underscore the importance and value of what this book has to offer.

This new geological epoch demands sensitivity to the forces that traverse human and nonhuman life, the geological, ecological and atmospheric. However, and I accept it could be that I'm not manly enough or too liberal etc but I could only get about 45 mins in before I gave up. When we attempt to isolate ourselves and shield our experiences, thoughts, and emotions from others, we limit our growth and expansion. He teaches us to reclaim what we have lost and he does so as one who has battled himself to win himself again. In keeping with that sentiment, I encourage you to digest Sovereignty, which happens to be a quick read, then dive into the most important aspects of what this book discusses as soon as possible: being a man of action.

Although understanding the system helps, it is the “mind-set” that is truly key and must be tackled first to be free. Expertly weaving together ethnography with legal studies, Canfield not only helps us to re-imagine more just food systems, he shows us how this is already being done. As a whole, I was a little disappointed by the writing style in the book, but I thought that Ryan’s message was absolutely SPOT ON! If you’re distorting the meaning of a word or phrase to fit your narrative, you’re likely limiting your perspective and your own sovereignty. For anyone interested in learning about the FS [food sovereignty] movement, this book provides a general history of the global FS movement and a detailed record of FS activism in western Washington.

In this compelling, inspiring, and at times provocative book, Mabry urges us to stop taking sides and refuse to participate in tribalism by mapping out a way to hold in tension truths that we so often divide over. The book will be of interest to academics and students interested in the intersection between superhero comics, culture and politics. He has previously worked as a technical advisor at the Presidency of the Republic of Senegal, and is Programme manager at the West Africa office of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. The writing is mediocre, the content seems highly general and I was hoping that by the end of the book there might be something of value yet for me it fell flat. In a careful review of the biblical evidence, he demonstrates how a right understanding of God's sovereignty is not so much a barrier to evangelism as an incentive and powerful support for it.Provides a great background and explanation of the ‘theory’ and then an excellent overview of how to execute (battle plan).

I'm grateful that Ryan Michler pulled it together, but apart from the military tactics, I've heard it better said by Stoicism commentators.A reminder of where my head used to be, in my own 20's 30's, and certainly much of my 40's, where everything started to decline. Maybe this book just wasn’t written for me- I’m 32, happily married with a son on the way and have worked the better part of a decade as a Firefighter and Paramedic. Ryan is "the man in the arena" (as Teddy Roosevelt would say), authoring his own life on his own terms, all while trying to uplift those around him.
