About this deal

His aim is to help educate people about the game of golf and give insights into the sport he loves most. The lack of spin coupled with the firmer core technology means the ball flies longer and rolls out more. These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. In the latest edition, we still see the two-piece construction but, thanks to a FastLayer core with a soft centre that gradually gets firmer as you move towards the cover, it is now able to snap back into shape more quickly, something which has been improved on for 2023.

They are slightly discoloured, may contain small scratches/scuffs, logos, and practice or stamped on 1 or 2 of these balls and 1/2 refurbished/refinished but you don’t get many of these maybe 1 or 2 or even none in 100. For someone like me, who likes a firmer feel on wedge shots and with the putter, it felt a bit too soft. All logical, but saying they're exactly the same with a different stamp is still a guess, especially when the statement is made without doing the minimum of looking at the balls side by side and feeling the covers. Also, balls with low-compression soft cores will feel softer off the face on full shots, with the added rebound properties of those soft cores also potentially helping those with low to average swing speeds hit it a little bit further compared to firmer-compression balls.Early on with multilayer solid core balls, mantle layers were described as a 2nd cover without dimples since they initially shared similar material and injection molding methods (at least with Spaulding and Bridgestone). Like other models in this guide, the Soft Response has a low 50-compression, which means that those with fast swing speeds may see a drop off in distance at the top end of the bag.

Based on my last post, assuming the SUPERHOT 55 is a ‘55’ compression ball I think it is safe to say the Hex Tour Soft is also a 55 compression ball. Also, many low-handicap players choose it thanks to its improved cover, which has an incredible green-grabbing performance on approach shots. Although different, there’s still plenty to like about it and it’s not necessarily a bad thing to be different from one of the top balls on the market. There’s certainly cheaper other balls available and better budget balls, but these balls will give you max distance and won’t cost you the earth. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.Featuring a compression of 60, it certainly suits those with mid to slow driver swing speeds of around 90mph or less, as the softer core enables those players to get better spin and distance numbers than they would get with a firmer golf ball. If you look for the same specs on the conforming list without the company, only the Top Flite Gamer matches. If a ball doesn’t feel good to hit off the club, then you can never really get comfortable over the shot in my opinion.

Both balls seem to deliver about the same distance but I can definitely feel the compression of the Soft ball on the club face and not so much on the Tour/Black ball. Pearl grade balls are almost like new, they still have the shiny finish of a brand new ball although they may contain player markings and logos. Golf balls come in alternative versions that spin slightly less for players who prefer a firmer feel or more control off the tee. We love these TaylorMade Soft Response balls for their excellent feel from the putter face, and for their outstanding spin control on the short game.Pattern: HEX Aerodynamics and This is a soft golf ball with low compression and great feel of your irons and on shots around the green. Balls with low-compression soft cores will feel softer off the face on full shots, with the added rebound properties of those soft cores also potentially helping those with low to average swing speeds hit it a little bit further compared to firmer-compression balls.

In testing, we found this was the case as it produced a towering trajectory with every club in the bag. The balls will likely end up being given away (or traded for adult beverages) to friends who play non-urethane balls but I'll try to at least mess around with them both at the chipping area of the range at some point.

This will certainly help the slower swinging players who are looking for a bit more speed and distance from their golf equipment. With that said, however, the ball is very durable and won’t see many scratches or marks during a round of golf. The improved core technology is designed to produce longer, straighter shots most notably from the tee box, plus a considerably tighter dispersion angle on iron shots and wedge play. Along with the added technology, it has a Soft Compression Core that enhances energy transfer for more ball speed and a high-launch, low-spin combo in the longer clubs, something which we noticed during our testing.
