About this deal

As the director will admit, this is pretty blatant, so maybe subtext is the wrong word, but it’s handled well and gives the film an edge over more bog-standard horror fare. UK collector Scott, also managed to hunt down a copy of the UK Zombies - Dawn Of The Dead trailer, which he found on the UK 1981 Intervision Exterminator pre-cert VHS. Abraham ( The Last Exorcism, In Time), Dawn of the Dead is based on the original screenplay by George A. It wasn’t Tom Savini’s first film as a special effects make-up artist, but it’s the one in which he made his name and lead to him finding fame with Friday the 13th not long after. It wasn't until 2003 that BMG got the full uncut Cannes version passed and released on DVD (Cat no: 74321 443600).

Originally made as a teaching tool, the first half covers all the levels of the filmmaking process in detail, as well as offering plenty of wonderful behind-the-scenes footage from the making of Dawn of the Dead. If you own the 2008 Universal, I advise you still pick up this package for the new interviews and added theatrical cut.The 4K disc just handles the grain better (a cleaner and more nuanced look to the structure) and the fine details are superb.

That tape was a little more worn being an ex-rental, but it certainly looked better than the chewed up sections, and they were patched together to make the final version. Things don’t get much better there, as the security guards try to control the group, and it’s not until they overpower and take things over themselves that they have a semblance of freedom. When the survivors are inside of the mall it’s a bit more toned down, with dialog taking front and center combined with some mild ambient noises from the surrounding areas. A lively commentary, moderated by Perry Martin for Anchor Bay's 2004 4-disc Ultimate DVD edition, that provides a wealth of detailed and revealing background information and covers a lot of ground, including the make-up effects, the Argento cut, the lighting, the social and subtextual elements, the biker raid, the original ending, and a whole lot more. It was re-released three years later in 1992 on the Entertainment In Video Polygram 4Front label with its recognisable gold coloured VHS cover (Cat no: 086 198 3), and re-issued again in 1995 with further cuts by the distributor now running at 1h 58m 05s, with a total of around 7m 20s of cuts (Cat no: EVS 1027).Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). It is a touch on the dark side, but this has apparently been an issue with prints for some time and does not serious harm to what is an otherwise excellent job. opted to not up-mix to a Dolby Atmos presentation, the included audio track is top-notch and sounds terrific throughout. Looking to get out of the city while they still can is helicopter pilot Stephen, his girlfriend Fran and his close friend Roger, a SWAT commando who invites newly met comrade Peter to join them. The Dead Will Walk’ takes a largely chronological approach, starting with Romero’s career and how it took him to Dawn. There is not much that can be said about Dawn of the Dead that hasn’t already been drawn and dissected. What I found interesting, watching the film now, was how much of it reminded me of the current COVID situation. The Romero, Savini and Christine Forrest commentary is an enjoyable look back at the shoot with plenty of interesting facts and anecdotes. gallery with rare promotional imagery; press conference from the premiere of the 4K restoration in Venice 2016 (33min); home videos from the set with commentary by Ralph Langer (13min); trailers; audio commentary with Claudio Simonetti; Super 8 version (45min); further extras tbc.

track is awful, mixed too tight, with dialogue almost muffled and artificial sounding surround ambience. Reiniger) shoot their way through a tenement block that’s overtaken with zombies and gun-toting residents. You get to see him working on Two Evil Eyes, Land of the Dead and Diary of the Dead too and there’s a lengthy ‘Dead’ reunion section towards the end. DTS-HD MA track from the Universal release (which is in no way a bad thing) and added their obligatory 2. is top-notch and there is a lot to appreciate about the amount of detail that went in to the design.Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers.
