With characters it is impossible not to care about . . . this is storytelling at its very best Daily Mail Based on a true story, Remember Me brings Mary Broad vividly to life in this moving story of a woman triumphing against overwhelming odds. Lesley Pearse was brought up in South London in various orphanages from the age of three. She learned about the Soho club scene and the music business during the Sixties with the late John Pritchard. Her novels have sold over ten million copies worldwide. Lesley has three daughters and three grandchildren and lives in Bristol. But Mary is also determined to make something of herself in this rugged man's world. And she dreams that one day she will find a way of crossing the cruel sea that lie between her and home....

Remember me is a fiction based on the true story of Mary Broad who was convicted and deported to Australia. Mary, a Cornish mariner's daughter, makes the biggest mistake of her short life when she steals a silk hat. Convicted and sentenced to be transported to Australia, she endures horrific conditions aboard ship before landing in a brutal and barbaric country. Trust me was the first book I've read by Lesley Pearse ...I couldn't stop crying...Remember me is a close second. What I feel is that this book and this story don’t have the protagonism that it should, since it tells something so exceptional. I had never heard of this, not even on History classes.

Nunca muere, nunca pierde lustre. Y sobrevive a la muerte". Lesley Pearse was told as a child that she had too much imagination for her own good. When she grew up she worked her way through a number of jobs, including nanny, bunny girl, dressmaker and full-time mother, before, at the age of forty-nine, settling upon a career that would allow her gifts to blossom: she became a published writer. Lesley lives in Devon and has three daughters and four grandchildren. And she dreams that one day she will find a way of crossing the cruel seas that lie between her and home . . .

Based on a true story, Mary Broad brings to life the horrors that a somewhat trivial crime could bring about in that period of time. 1786, shy of her twentieth birthday, Mary is sentenced to death by hanging, for the crime of stealing a silk hat. Spared her death sentence, she is sentenced to be shipped to Australia to live out her sentence and be put to work. From sentencing, the journey across the sea and eventually landing on the shore and the colony to work and fight for survival. Has I read quite a lot I couldn't afford to buy them full price I usually have two books going at once.

With characters it is impossible not to care about . . . this is storytelling at its very best' Daily Mail Quando tentei pesquisar mais sobre Mary, descobri que foi feito um filme baseado na sua história, e vou tentar arranja-lo para ver. It was such a griping story filled with lots of emotions. I fell in love with Mary and all the characters. I cried, I screamed, had tears of joy, and was on the edge of my bed most of time rooting for her survival and others.
